Relationship between different types of stress responses and the quality of life of elderly lung cancer patients
Objective To evaluate the relationship between different types of stress responses and the quality of life of elderly lung cancer patients.Method A total of 112 elderly lung cancer patients who underwent minimally invasive surgical treatment were selected, and their quality of life was evaluated by the functional assessment of cancer therapy-general(FACT-G),the posttraumatic stress disorder was assessed by posttraumatic stress checklist-civilian version(PCL-C),and the posttraumatic growth was evaluated by posttraumatic growth inventory(PTGI).The correlation be-tween stress response types and the quality of life of elderly lung cancer patients was analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis.Result The total score of PCL-C scale in 112 elderly lung cancer patients was(40.83±5.35)points,the total score of PTGI scale was(63.74±8.97)points,and the total score of FACT-G scale was(78.08±7.66)points.Pearson corre-lation analysis showed that PTGI score was negatively correlated with FACT-G score in elderly lung cancer patients(r=-0.995,P<0.01),while PCL-C score was positively correlated with FACT-G score(r=0.981,P<0.01).Conclusion Post-traumatic growth is positively correlated with the quality of life of elderly lung cancer patients, while posttraumatic stress disorder is negatively correlated with quality of life.Clinical interventions can be developed based on this to improve quali-ty of life.
