Optimization of Cutting Parameters in Drilling of AISI 304 Stainless Steel Using Taguchi and Analysis of Variance Method
The orthogonal array experiment of AISI304 stainless steel was carried out in this paper with a cemented carbide bit.The bit vibration and the surface roughness of the inner circle of the drill hole were respectively collected by the laser Doppler vibrometer ( LDV) and the SJ-301 portable surface roughness meter. The experimental results were analyzed by variance analysis to determine the significant cutting pa-rameters that affect the bit vibration and surface roughness. The experimental results showed that the vi-bration of the drill increases with the increase of tool wear. The optimum cutting parameters of the drill vi-bration,feed rate and spindle speed, respectively, and the optimum cutting parameters of surface rough-ness,feed rate, spindle speed respectively have been given.
