The Importance of Garrison under the Analysis of the Guard Eunuch Post in Fengyang during Ming Dynasty
During the Chenghua Period of Ming Dynasty,the Ming Court set up the post of Garrison Eu-nuch in Fengyang,which ended with the fall of Hongguang regime in the Southern Ming Dynasty.During more than 170 years,at least 26 men held the post of garrison in Fengyang.Among them,basically from the Ming Central Eunuch of the twenty-four departments of the Officiary,the Inner Official,the Imperial Horse,the Imperial and the Divine Palace in the departments.The scope of its duties includes:guarding the imperial mausoleum,managing the imperial city,guarding the high wall,supervising criminal crimes,commanding the army and people,and the New Year's Tribute.Their terms of reference also fluctuated with each period,especially with the drastic changes in the administration.
