Study on the Relationship between Sedimentary Records of the Novel Pollutant Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers in Chaohu Lake and Human Activities
It analyzed the deposition records of polybrominated biphenyl ethers( PBDEs) at three sampling points in Chaohu Lake in the paper using radioactive nuclide 210 Pb as a tracer element. It explored the correlation between PBDEs deposition history and human activities in the area, and diagnosed potential in-put sources of PBDEs.The results showed that:commercial products of decabromodiphenyl ether,pent-abromodiphenyl ether, and octabromodiphenyl ether may be sources of pollution. The widespread presence of tribromodiphenyl ether in the sediment core indicates that reducing debromination may occur in the sediment core. The concentration of PBDEs in the sedimentary core is positively correlated with gross do-mestic product( GDP) and household appliance production( HPV) .
