Objective:To investigate the cognition and employment intention of clinical medicine undergraduates on General Medicine, and provide the reference for the career selection of clinical medicine undergraduates. Methods:By means of questionnaire survey and stratified random cluster sampling,759 medical students from a medical university were studied using the《Medical students'professional identity in General Medicine》in September 2023.The descriptive statistics,χ2 test and multiple logistic regression analysis were used, and the P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results:There were statistically significant in the employment intention of General Medicine, average annual family income, only child, influence of General Medicine education, level of attention to General Medicine, encouragement during undergraduate study stage, relevant knowledge of General Medicine and rolevant awards in the field of General Medicine among students(P<0.05 to P<0.01).The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that whether they had learned relevant knowledge of General Medicine, whether they had won relevant awards in the field of General Medicine, and whether they were the only child were the effective predictors of employment intention. Conclusions:Medical students'cognition of General Medicine is not high, and their employment intention is low.Whether they have learned relevant knowledge of General Medicine, whether they have won relevant awards in the field of General Medicine, and whether they are the only child are the main factors that affect the medical students'intention to work in General Medicine.
