Objective:To explore the application effects of self-designed protective restraint gloves in psychiatry department.Methods:A total of 60 patients with mental disorders,such as excitement and agitation,violent impulse and negative high risk,who needed hand restraint,were selected as the observation subjects.The patients were randomly divided into the observation group and control group(30 patients each group).The control group was treated was traditional protective restraint belts,while the observation group was treated with protective restraint gloves.The effects of two kinds of protective restraints ( patient self-harm rate,medical staff scratch rate) and patient satisfaction were observed and compared.Results:The self-harm rate and medical staff scratch rate in the observation group were 3.33％,while those in the control group were 26.67％,the difference of which was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference of the satisfaction rate between the observation group(96.67％) and control group(76.67％) was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The protective restraint gloves can effectively restrain and protect patients' hands,reduce the self-harm rate of patients with mental disorders and scratch rate of medical staff,and improve patients' satisfaction.
