Research Progress on the Functions of Exosomes During SARS-CoV-2 Infection,Diagnosis,Treatment and Prophylaxis
COVID-19 is a widely prevalent and devastating infectious disease with a highly mortality rate, which has caused a serious crisis to the global public health system.Exosomes are nanoscale vesicles secreted by living cells, which can carry parental cells'lipid, protein and genetic materials to recipient cells and take part in the body's signal transmission and information exchange.During the pathological process of SARS-CoV-2 infection, exosomes are involved in the infection and played through the endocytic pathway or related molecules, and then regulate the physiological or pathological state of the body.Exosomes have the advantages of stability, low immunogenicity, high biocompatibility and being able to pass through the tissue barriers smoothly. As"molecular carrier",exosomes can deliver molecules related to SARS-CoV-2 virus for the diagnosis of COVID-19;As"delivery carrier",exosomes can carry lipid, nucleic acids, protein and drugs into the body, thus exosomes are often used in the treatment and vaccine preparation of COVID-19.This article reviews how do exosomes participate in SARS-CoV-2 infection and diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of COVID-19.
