Development and Emerging Applications of Packaging Systems for Pseudoviruses
Pseudovirus is an artificially produced chimeric recombinant virus particle.According to research needs, different"packaging systems"for viral vectors can be used to carry the envelope proteins/capsid proteins of other viruses on the surface of virus particles.Recombinant pseudovirions have similar structures and functions to live viruses, and can be used as substitutes for live viruses in virology research. This article reviews common construction strategies for pseudoviruses based on different packaging systems for viral vectors, the factors affecting pseudovirus construction/titer,and emerging applications of pseudoviruses. This article provides reference ideas for biosafety research on highly pathogenic and highly infectious viruses.
