Research Progress on the Mechanism of Action of Probiotics Against Influenza Viruses
Influenza is an acute infection of the respiratory tract. After entering the human body,a particular influenza virus attacks various tissues and organs. If the infection is severe,it can, lead to multiple-organ failure, shock, and death.Probiotics are functional microorganisms that can prevent the colonization of pathogenic microorganisms and regulate host immunity.Several studies have found that some probiotics can prevent and treat influenza-viruses infection. In recent years, there have been explorations on how probiotics act against influenza viruses.Herein we summarize how probiotics act against influenza viruses from four aspects:virus antagonism;immune regulation;prevention of secondary infection;balance of intestinal microecology. Also,we discuss the application mode of probiotics against influenza virus to provide a reference for future research.
