Oropouche Fever,A Potential Threat to Global Health?
Oropouche fever is an arthropods-borne viral infectious disease spreading in the central and south of America, and it has become a major public health problem in these regions.Infected individuals have early clinical manifestations similar to those of vector-borne diseases such as dengue,Zika and chikungunya, making it difficult to be diagnosed and hindering the discovery, diagnosis, timely implementation of prevention and treatment measures. The vectors for this virus transmission are widely and globally distributed. This requires more attention to the risk of its further spread and threats to global public health security,as well as timely evaluation and appropriate response. In order to improve the understanding and awareness of diagnosis and treatment of this disease, etiology, epidemiological characteristics, clinical manifestations and laboratory diagnostic of Oropouche fever were summarized and analyzed herein.
