Rearing silkworms with artificial diet is a key factor in the transformation of the sericulture industry from a labor-intensive to a technology-intensive one,and it is of great significance for ara-ble land conservation,stable cocoon production,and the consolidation and development of sericul-ture.This paper provides an overview of the progress in China's research and development of rearing silkworms with artificial diet,briefly discusses the challenges faced in the promotion and application of it.It is anticipated that through accelerated technological innovation and interdisciplinary research in sericulture,there will be revolutionary advancements in silkworm artificial feed breeding technolo-gy.
