Top Grafting Technology and Cultivation Management Measures of Apple in Western Henan Province
The western region of Henan province was one of the main apple producing areas in China,and played an important role in agricultural production.However,due to the single variety and severe aging of most orchards in the local area,the yield and quality have reduced,and the management cost has been increasing year by year.So it was urgent to update the varieties and replacements.The top grafting technique can form callus quickly.At the same time,top grafting has a well-developed root system,good tree stability,and was not easily blown down by wind.The growth of new shoots can reach more than 1m.The top-grafted tree was generally formed in the second year and the fruit has begun in the third year.Author introduced the production technology of apple top grafting,in order to provide reference for the healthy development of apple industry in western Henan.
