Distribution Characteristics and Ecological Risk Assessment of Heavy Metal Pollution in Surface Water Environment
This study investigated heavy metal pollution in surface water environment by setting monitoring sections in the upstream and downstream of rivers and sampling points in reservoirs. The sampling time was in April,July, and December 2022.The results showed that Zn content was the highest,Hg content was the lowest, and Cd,Pb,Cr,Cu,and As content were in the middle. The con-tent of heavy metal pollutants in reservoirs is higher than that in rivers.Seasonal changes have a relatively small impact on the degree of heavy metal pollution.According to the potential ecological hazard index method, the ecological risk assessment of YY River and D and E reservoirs was conducted, and the results showed that Cd>Hg>Cu>Pb>As>Zn>Cr was the ecological risk ranking of heavy met-als,with Hg having extremely strong ecological pollution.Heavy metals exhibit significant spatial heterogeneity in surface water environ-ments,and their distribution is influenced by various factors. The ecological risk of heavy metal pollution in the surface water environment of the research area is relatively serious and needs to be given sufficient attention.
