Research on The Motivation of Cross-border M&A of Gold Mining Enterprises under Public Health Emergencies
In the face of complex and changeable external environment,gold mining enterprises carry out a deeper analysis of the motivation of cross-border M&A,and make a scientific prediction of future M&A behavior,so as to achieve sustainable and positive business performance.Taking the cross-border M&A projects of listed gold mining enterprises in China from 2014 to 2022 as samples,this paper uses literature research,empirical research and comparative analysis methods to in-depth study the changes in the motivations of cross-border M&A caused by public health emergencies,and provides reference for the investment decision-making and risk prevention of gold mining enterprises.The results show that:Under the influence of public health emergencies,countries ad opt corresponding loose monetary policies,which leads to the increase of gold price and enhances the willingness of gold mining enterprises to cross-border M&A;Due to the impact of COVID-19,the motivations of cross-border M&A of gold mining enterprises show new characteristics such as short-term,speculative,shrinkage and risk aversion,which are manifested as opportunities in special periods,resource integration,market share expansion,cooperation opportunities and business risk reduction;At present,gold mining enterprises are facing many challenges such as tight supply of gold resources,upgrading of mining technology and market development.Gold will become an important mineral resource that countries compete to reserve.
