A Study on the Trade Efficiency and Potential of Agricultural Products Exported from China's Xinjiang to RCEP Countries
This paper analyzes and measures the trade efficiency and potential of agricultural exports from Xinjiang,China to RCEP member countries through a stochastic frontier gravity model, and explores the main factors hindering Xinjiang's agricultural exports to RCEP member countries with the one-step method to put forward policy suggestions for expanding Xinjiang's agricultural exports. The results show that:the average trade efficiency between Xinjiang,China with RCEP countries is 0.621;the average tariff level of agricultural products, free trade agreements and trade freedom do not have a significant impact on Xinjiang's agricultural product export trade efficiency, whereas the logistics performance index, commercial freedom, and government efficiency have a significant and positive impact on the export trade efficiency;Thailand,Philippines,Indonesia, and Vietnam are high trade potential countries, and Myanmar has the highest trade expansion space. In order to promote the export of agricultural products from Xinjiang,China to RCEP member countries, efforts should be made to enhance the competitiveness of agricultural products and improve the logistics performance of agricultural products, and focus export expansion efforts on countries with large export markets and high trade potential.
