The Impact of Platform Economic Development on China's Labor Market Segmentation:A Multidimensional Measure and Impact Decomposition
Labor market segmentation has become a major factor constraining the increase in residents' in-comes in China. The emergence of the platform economy provides new ideas and schemes for breaking la-bor market segmentation and achieving common prosperity. So,has the platform economy effectively solved the segmentation of the labor market in China?By measuring the platform economy index and la-bor market segmentation,and comprehensively analyzing the impact of the platform economy on labor market segmentation,the study shows the following results:First,the platform economy has heteroge-neous effects on different types of labor market segmentation. It has intensified segmentation between sec-tors,but alleviated urban-rural labor market segmentation,and has no significant impact on the segmenta-tion between the institutional and non-institutional labor markets;Second,different dimensions of plat-form economy,such as platform infrastructure,platform transactions and platform commodities,also have heterogeneous effects on the segmentation of different types of labor market. Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the construction of rural digital infrastructure and digital transactions,improve the regulatory mechanisms for the use of digital platforms,promote the construction of platform for goods,and further re-lease the mitigating effects of the platform economy on labor market segmentation.
