Design Pattern of Japanese Manuscript"Yuan-Ye"and Garden Architecture in the Late Ming Dynasty Engravings:Case Study Based on Evidence-Based Design Perspective
From the perspective of evidence-based design research, this paper makes a case-by-case comparison study between the design pattern of the Japanese manuscript"Yuan-Ye"and the garden architecture in the prints of the late Ming Dynasty, and clearly points out that the"design pattern"in"Yuan-Ye"(that is,the"de-sign drawing"with paradigm significance)refers to the"detailed construction drawings"drawn by JI Cheng dur-ing the garden constructing, which is formed through systematic sorting and logical compilation, and it has strong practical guidance. At the same time, the design pattern of"Yuan-Ye"and Zheng Yuanxun's"Shadow Garden Self-recording"in the end of the Ming Dynasty have been think as a"mutual proof",intended to compare con-struction instructions from the same period with construction drawings, and the"Shadow garden Self-recording"is also regarded as the technical document of the construction of small wood works in ancient Chinese garden ar-chitecture.Through the research path of verification and comparison, the paper has echoed the evidence-based design research method from"design Pattern of Yuan-Ye"to"architecture image"mentioned by Kan Duo.
