Shoshana Zuboff's Theory of Surveillance Capitalism and Its Critical Reflection
In the 21 st century,with the integration and development of Big data monitoring technology and capitalism,a new form of capitalism,surveillance capitalism,has quietly arrived.The professor at Harvard Business School,Shoshana Zuboff,tries to outline the hidden business logic of Google,Facebook and other enterprises by constructing the theory of surveillance capitalism,and explores the essence and development trend of surveillance capitalism under the context of this high degree of social connection and dataization,which broadens the research horizon of related issues.However,due to the limitations of research vision and class position,although Zuboff"observed",she failed to truly understand the internal generation logic and deep operating mechanism of surveillance capitalism.Based on the perspective of Marxist political economics,this paper makes a critical examination and reflec-tion on Zuboff's theory of surveillance capitalism,and tries to gain a deeper insight into the generation logic and operation mecha-nism of surveillance capitalism.
