The Historical Contribution and Limitation of Shi Cuntong's Early Exploration of the Sinicization of Marxism
On the premise of clarifying anarchism and Marxism, taking the translation and introduction of Japanese Marxist studies and dissemination of historical materialism as the starting point, and taking the use of Marxism to analyze the Chinese revolu-tion and promote the nationalization of Marxism as the key, Shi Cuntong made an attempt and effort to adapt Marxism to the Chinese context. Shi Cuntong's early exploration demonstrates the consciousness of defending, translating and spreading Marxism as an ear-ly disseminator of Marxism, and shows the advanced understanding that Marxist universal truth should be adapted to China's nation-al conditions. Meanwhile, it exposes the historical limitations that didn't grasp the real situation of China's practice and the essen-tial issues of the Chinese revolution and couldn 't form the theoretical achievements of Marxism 's Sinicization that combines theory with practice. The early exploration experience of Shi Cuntong has important enlightenment significance for today's emphasis on grasping the essence of Marxist theory, mastering the specific requirements of China's practice, strengthening Marxist belief, and using Marxist methods to guide practice.
