Traditional Peasants'self-identity Crisis in the Process of Modernization: Formation and Alleviation
In the process of modernization, some peasants are limited by their own factors and unable to transition to modern peasants or cross-industry employment, becoming traditional peasants in modern society. Modernization has changed the world faced by traditional peasants and their relationship with the world, gradually dissolving the self-identity they previously established in agricultural production. Traditional peasants'self-identity crisis is rooted in the backwardness of traditional agricultural produc-tion mode compared with modern social production mode, the formation process includes the basic links such as traditional peas-ants' failure in commodity exchange, imbalance in social comparison, aphasia in public communication, and disappointment in self-reflection. In the process of comprehensively promoting rural revitalization with Chinese-style modernization, traditional peasants should be given more attention, respect and assistance, and strategies to alleviating the crisis should be explored from the perspec-tive of ensuring survival, developing production and enriching life.
