Research on Text Generation and Utilization of Duan Fang Archives
As a carrier of historical data,archives are often regarded as first-hand materials,but the text generation process is often not the focus of researchers,but it is closely related to historical research.Duan Fang's archives collected in the First Histori-cal Archives of China record the exchange telegrams,letters and all kinds of miscellaneous files during the period of Duan Fang's official status as a local governor in the late Qing Dynasty.The volume is very large and the content involves important historical e-vents.They have high historical value and are valued by academic circles.Duan Fang Archives keep the original appearance since the text generation as much as possible,and has the characteristics of primitiveness,integrity and systematicness.By investigating the generation,dispersal and arrangement of the texts of the Duan Fang Archives,we can see that each archive has its derivative process.The formation process of archives affects its utilization as historical materials and researchers'cognition of history.
