Guo Moruo's Exploration of Sinicization of Marxism in the 1920s
Through translating The Social Organization and The Social Revolution written by Kawakami Hajime who was a fa-mous economist in Japan,Guo Moruo believed that Marxism was the truth that could guide Chinese people to realize independence and freedom from the imperialism oppression.Based on the basic principles of Marxism,it was his view that realizing Chinese in-dustrialization should be underway by mobilizing all resources under the central administration,following the Soviet Union model for the reality of Chinese agricultural country.Guo Moruo was busy over the work to spread the ideal to overthrow the imperialism,to a-bolish the unequal treaty,and to support worker strikes against foreign capitalists in the long run until the final victory in the May Thirtieth Movement.In 1925,Guo Moruowrote one essay namely Marx Entering into the Confucian Temple in which through the dia-logue between Marx and Confucius to prove the common sense between Marxism and Confucianism such as justice,equality and common wealth.It was an important page in the intellectual history of modern China that Guo Moruo took an important step to incor-porate Marxism with China's real conditions and Confucianism in the road to realize Chinese modernization.
