Design and application of thickness measurement calibration system based on laser displacement sensor
In order to improve the accuracy and safety of steel plate thickness calibration by addressing the issues of low precision in traditional contact-type thickness gauges and the radiation risk associated with radiation-based thickness gauges,a differential non-contact thickness measurement and calibration system based on laser displacement sensors was designed. The system adopts a differential measurement structure, and the laser displacement sensors are placed on the top and bottom of the steel plate to be measured respectively. The thickness of the steel plate is accurately measured by sampling and calculating data from the sensors. The hardware circuit is designed using an STM32 core chip. The software part of the system is also meticulously developed.Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed measurement system exhibits outstanding performance. The repeatability accuracy reaches±0.1%,the measurement tolerance is better than ±0.05%,and the measurement drift is within±0.1%of the steel plate thickness. The system not only significantly improves measurement accuracy, but also effectively reduces the safety risks in the measurement process which has important guiding significance and practical value in the field of steel plate production and processing.
