Comparison of the effectiveness of two different adsorption tubes in adsorbing TVOC in indoor air
Total volatile organic compounds(TVOC)are extremely harmful organic compounds in indoor air. Therefore, the detection technology of TVOC is highly concerned both domestically and internationally. This study proposed an analysis method for 16 volatile organic compounds in indoor air based on an adsorption tube adsorption—thermal desorption—cold trap capture—gas chromatography method, and a comparative study was conducted on the adsorption effectiveness of the Tenax-TA stainless steel pipe and the TC composite pipe for TVOC in indoor air.Data analysis revealed that the recovery rate of the Tenax-TA stainless steel pipe was 88%-105%,and the recovery rate of TC composite pipe was 0-106%.The stability and adsorption effectiveness of the Tenax-TA stainless steel pipe were better than those of the TC composite pipe.Furthermore, the concentration distribution of 16 types of TVOC in typical samples collected by Tenax-TA stainless steel tubes was relatively consistent.Consequently, the Tenax-TA stainless steel tubes are more appropriate for collecting TVOC in indoor air.
