Analysis and improvement of pitting corrosion defects in electrolytic tin-plated products
An investigation was undertaken to determine the primary factors contributing to the pitting corrosion defect formation on electrolytic tin-plated sheets exposed to atmospheric corrosive environment. The potential causes of the defect were investigated and analyzed, and the correlation between factors such as condensation, original plate inclusions,pre-treatment,electrolytic tinning, and roller damage with this defect were ruled out.The study ultimately identified a strong correlation between the flux and the defect. This finding offers valuable insights for the prevention of rust defects and improvement of tin-plated surface quality in the future.
