Knowledge Producer or Reading Labor?The Laboring Dilemma of Online Reading Groups
In the era of digital economy,the digitalization process of the publishing industry has driven its own technological innovation and integration,and has also given rise to the popularity of social reading and the reading derivative business.Online reading groups with interaction as the core are knowledge production fields that combine reading and socialization.However,online reading groups are also subject to the domination of digital technology and platform logic,and knowledge production is increasingly facing the shift to invisible unpaid labor.This paper analyzes the knowledge production of online reading groups diachronically,and examines from a critical perspective how the platform as the reading infrastructure constructs the labor logic of online reading groups participants.This paper tries to re-visualize the textual,relational and emotional labor of reading in the platform context,with a view to avoiding the erosion of reading boundaries by platform labor and providing new possibilities for national reading campaign.
