Based on the elaboration of the practical and theoretical motivations underlying the construction of a value system for deep convergence and development in publishing, this article defines the inherent value, external value, and value norms of convergent publishing. It analyzes their characteristics of objectivity, subjectivity, and social historicity, and focuses on elucidating the threefold value connotation of convergence,namely,self-consistent convergence, comprehensive mastery, and embedded integration. Finally,it discusses in detail the intrinsic value of ideological, cultural, economic, and technological functions enabled by digital intelligence technologies,as well as the external value of empowering individuals, society, the nation, and international entities at multiple levels, and the value norms of convergent publishing advocating the return to its essence. This marks the first attempt to construct a value system for publishing convergence, further enriching the autonomous knowledge system of integrated publishing.
