Theme Publishing and Chinese Modernization:Responsibility,Mission and the Way Forward
The theme publishing in the new era assumes the responsibility and mission of interpreting and disseminating the theory of Chinese modernization,strengthening the mainstream ideology and public opinion,promoting economic and social development,inheriting and innovating Chinese culture,telling the story of Chinese modernization to the world,and promoting its own high-quality development.To accomplish these missions,theme publishing should enhance its narrative ability via adjusting its narrative methods,strengthen its educational and public reading functions to enhance public literacy,promote"going global"to enhance international discourse power and strengthen digital technology empowerment to promote its own transformation and upgrading.In this process,theme publishing should also balance the political,cultural as well as academic and popular nature,coordinate domestic and international markets,and align traditional books theme publishing with integrated-media products theme publishing.
