Discourse,Technology and Emotion:The Logic of Actor Translation of Media Mobilization in the Digital Age
The world today is marked by changes unseen in a century.Rapidly consolidating consensus and mobilizing actions among atomized and dispersed individuals to mitigate these risks constitute a pressing issue for our nation.Actor-Network Theory proposed by Latour focuses on"actants"and the concept of"translation"holds significant value in studying the technical operations of media mobilization. In the digital era, discourse, technology, and emotions emerge as three core actants of media mobilization:media discourse production highlights and conceals controlled meanings;technology acts as a weak organizer in behavioral concretization;and emotions serve as moral grammars driving the generation of emotional spaces. This translational mechanism effectively empowers the media to shape societal values and mobilize public participation in collective actions. In immersive communicative environments of autonomous experiences, incorporating"actants"and"network connections"into the realm of media mobilization strengthens the associations among humans and objects, objects and objects, and objects and events, thereby fostering social connectivity actions in the digital age.
