Ethical Governance Frameworks and Policies for Using AI in Scholarly Publishing:A Grounded Theory Study on 49 International Publishing Policies
Artificial intelligence has penetrated deeply into the whole process of scholarly publishing and has profoundly affected the current system of scholarly communication.In order to describe the specific ethical governance framework of AI in international scholarly publishing and to provide reference for the development of scholarly journals in China,this study empirically examines the policy texts using grounded theory and content analysis to analyze the current ethical framework and key regulatory measures for AI applications in the international scholarly publishing process.The study finds that international scholarly publishing institutions and scholarly organizations have a positive attitude towards the application of AI,but still maintain prudent policy principles,and their ethical governance framework is divided into two parts:inclusive and prudent disposition principles and specific norms for different subject.In general,the framework has a clear policy orientation and clear specific measures.
