Using the methods of literature,historical research and logical speculation,this paper takes the Miao people's crossbow in Zhijin County,Guizhou as an example to sort out the historical origin,value and development predicament of the Miao people's crossbow,and conducts an exploratory study on the future development path of the folk festival sports activities.The results show that the lack of supervision by the government or relevant institutions leads to the marginalization of Miao crossbow.The lack of national cultural identity in the process of modernization leads to the loss of inheritors;The influx of western competitive sports culture led to the neglect of Miao crossbow.The modern value orientation of school physical education leads to the interruption of inheritance path and other difficulties,and puts forward the development path strategies from government supervision,cultural consciousness,combination of sports and tourism and education inheritance.
