This paper analyzes the development status of traditional ethnic physical education in rural schools in southwest China through literature data,expert interview and field investigation.Research found that the southwest rural school national traditional physical education has the following problems:the shortage of education resources and teachers limit the progress of the rural school national traditional physical education,conservative education concept limits the development of the national traditional physical education and the impact of modern competitive sports limits the development of the national traditional physical education.For the southwest rural schools national traditional sports education development problems,put forward some measures.
