Unified metadata design and collection management technology of multi-source geographic product data
The scope of geographic product data discussed in this paper was clarified based on the requirements for multi-source geographic product data management and applications. This paper also analyzed the storage organization and application characteristics of geographic product data. According to the requirements of storage organization,a two-level classification directory and category coding for data categories and subcategories was designed. A metadata collection specification was designed for geographic product data,and a two-level metadata design concept of dataset and data unit was proposed to meet the management requirements of different data granularity. The composition of metadata in dataset and data unit was designed respectively,and the metadata for spatial and non-spatial geographic product data was jointly designed. The naming principles for the dataset directory and data units were clarified. A software that could automatically collect multi-source geographic product metadata was designed and implemented,and a data management software was developed based on unified metadata design. The results show that this method can meet the needs of users for unified storage organization of multi-source geographic product data,multi-granularity management,and efficient and convenient retrieval.
