This paper introduced the background of the construction of three-dimensional(3D) real scenes.It summarized the policy documents and main contents of China,the Ministry of Natural Resources and Beijing on the construction of digital China,3D real scene China,and 3D real scene Beijing. It concluded the technical research achievements of 3D real scenes in standard system,theoretical research,data production,database construction,platform R&D and application. This paper summarized the course and main achievements of 3D real scene Beijing construction from 2008 to 2023,and it concluded the pilot construction content,key technology and application of new fundamental surveying and mapping in Beijing. Besides, this paper analyzed the existing 3D real scene Beijing construction work,and some suggestions were made from such aspects as the product,data updating,and application scenarios.
