An ontology-based approach to design geograhic entity semantic model
Based on new fundamental surveying and mapping, this paper proposed an ontology-based geographic entity semantic model design method aiming at the lack of support for the existing spatio-temporal data models for geographic entity data including geometry, semantics and states in the production and storage process of three-dimensional(3D) real scenes spatio-temporal data. Firstly,a data conceptual model for the domain of geographic entities is constructed, and then a new geographic information data model-semantic entity model(SEM) to instantiate the ontology concept. Taking the mountain in the natural entity as an example, the conceptual model of the mountain entity is constructed. The SEM data model is employed to represent the mountain entity ontology, and the instance results are imported into the geographic entity database. The verification results show that the SEM data model can realize the integrated storage of multi-modal geographic entity data, and take into account the geometry, semantics, and other characteristics of geospatial data. The SEM model provides a new type of geographic information data organization method, which solves the problem of fragmentation of traditional fundamental surveying and mapping data and can achieve heterogeneous data fusion and data linkage update.
