Calculation of urban heat island indicators based on GeoSOT grid
The emergence of the urban heat island effect has adverse effects on energy consumption, materials circulation, and the health of urban residents. Therefore, accurate calculation of heat island indicators and quantitative monitoring of urban heat island effect are of great significance for improving the urban ecological environment. To solve the problems of complexity, low efficiency, and accuracy in calculating urban heat island indicators, this paper proposed a calculation method for heat island footprint and heat island volume based on geograhic coordinate subdividing(GeoSOT) grid. Taking Dongcheng and Xicheng districts in Beijing as the research area, the heat island indicators were calculated for the summer of 2014-2019 before the epidemic, and the calculation results were compared and analyzed combined with the Gaussian model method. The results show that the calculation of heat island indicators based on the GeoSOT grid reduces data redundancy, and it calculates heat island indicators within the error range quickly and accurately. The calculation reflects the spatial range and significance of the occurrence of the heat island effect.
