Monitoring and driving force analysis of urban expansion based on GIS
Accurate information on urban construction land can reflect the dynamic changes of urban expansion, which is of great significance for guiding decision-making in urbanization construction and planning. This paper studied Nanchang City and selected the GlobeLand 30 image data from 2000,2010,and 2020 as the main data sources. The land use transfer matrix model was used to quantitatively analyze the amplitude and dynamic degree of urban land use changes. The expansion index model and other methods were employed to study the expansion area, speed, intensity, compactness, fractal dimension, center of gravity transfer distance, and expansion direction of Nanchang City over the past 20 years. In addition, the driving force of urban expansion was qualitatively analyzed, and quantitative analysis was performed using the grey correlation analysis method. The results indicate that the economic and demographic factors of Nanchang City are significantly correlated with urban expansion, which provides support for management departments in land management and rational use of land, urban development and planning, and healthy urban development.
