Application of three-dimensional laser scanning technology in protection and restoration of cultural relics
Ancient architecture is a carrier of cultural spirit. With the passage of time, the protection and restoration of ancient architecture are imminent under the influence of external environments and natural disasters. At present, there are many methods to measure ancient architecture in China and abroad, such as discrete point measurement of total station,close-range photogrammetry, integration of total station and photogrammetry, and three-dimensional(3D)laser scanning. This paper took residential buildings 1-10 of the Lisu nationality in Tongle as an example.Based on the point cloud data obtained by 3D laser scanning technology, the exterior facade, interior structure, roof, and courtyard of the ancient architecture were scanned.Based on FARO SCENE software, the point cloud data was processed, and the feature information of the architecture was extracted by computer-aided design(CAD)software. The plan, elevation, and section of the residential buildings and courtyards were drawn. The accuracy of the scanning results was evaluated by traditional measuring methods, providing accurate data for the subsequent protection and restoration of residential buildings.
