Application of UAV airborne LiDAR technology and oblique photogrammetry in topographic mapping
For areas with large terrain drops, dense vegetation, and poor intervisibility, this study proposed a method to complete the mapping using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) airborne light detection and ranging(LiDAR) technology and oblique photogrammetry. By taking advantage of LiDAR such as strong penetration, high density, and high-precision data acquisition, the ground elevation information could be accurately obtained. The plane position information of the object could be accurately obtained by using oblique photogrammetry, which had a relatively intuitive visual effect and could quickly carry out vector data collection. Through the combination of two technical means,high-precision topographic maps can be developed. By studying an actual project in Heilongjiang, this study demonstrated that this method could fully meet the accuracy requirements of 1∶500 digital topographic maps.
