Quick extraction of overhead lines and parameters from urban road point cloud data
Urban overhead transmission lines play an important fundamental role in urban power supply networks and require timely and reliable detection. Three-dimensional (3D) laser scanning technology was used to obtain a large number of high-precision and high-density point clouds in a short period of time. After filtering, principal component analysis was used to obtain the principal direction and segment and extract parameters of a single wire based on the connectivity of the projection. The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper can effectively extract overhead transmission lines from urban point clouds. The urban scene-based processing time for 21.74 million point clouds is 27.69 seconds, and the average error between the parameter extraction results of a single transmission line and the manually calculated values is 0.022 meters, meeting the efficiency and accuracy requirements of situation awareness of urban overhead transmission lines.
