Analysis of signal quality and PPP performance of BDS-3 for continuously operating reference stations on railways
To evaluate the reliability of Beidou-3 navigation satellite system (BDS-3) signals in the continuously operating reference station network established along the existing railway, the observation data quality of BDS-3's B1I/B3I and B1C/B2a signals was analyzed using G-Nut/Anubis. Based on the ionosphere-free combined precise point positioning (PPP) observation model, precise orbit and clock offset products from the Center for Orbit Determination in Europe (CODE),European Space Agency (ESA),and Deutsches Geo Forschungs Zentrum (GFZ) were used to perform static PPP solutions for two BDS-3 dual-frequency combinations:B1I/B3I and B1C/B2a. The comparison with global positioning system (GPS) results shows that BDS-3 achieves optimal positioning performance when using CODE products and the B1I/B3I combination model, with accuracy comparable to GPS. Therefore, the single Beidou navigation satellite system (BDS) can be applied in the measurement of the continuously operating reference station network on railways.
