Shape re-measurement of Shuibuya Dam spillway and deviation analysis
The Shuibuya Dam in Qingjiang River is the world's highest concrete faced rockfill dam.Its spillway was designed and verified based on the 1 000-year flood standard. The consistency of the shape of the spillway with the design is related to the relationship between flood flow velocity and flow pattern changes. If the shape deviation is too large, there may be cavitation, affecting the safe and normal operation of the hydropower. This paper introduced the re-measurement of the main dimensions of the Shuibuya Dam spillway and evaluated the construction deviation. The results show that the construction deviation of the Shuibuya Dam spillway is relatively small, meeting the design requirements, and it will not affect the normal operation of the hydropower station.
