Dynamic monitoring and evaluation of the restoration quality of the mining areas in the middle and upper reaches of Hanjiang River in the the Nanling Mountain Area
Since 2018,the ecological restoration of contiguous mines in the middle and upper reaches of the Hanjiang River in the Nanling Mountain Area,Guangdong Province has been continuously promoted, and the dynamic monitoring and evaluation of the quality of ecological restoration and treatment in mining areas are particularly important.Based on sub-meter-level optical satellite remote sensing images from 2015 to 2021,this paper used the remote sensing ecological index(RSEI)method to dynamically quantify the ecological environment restoration quality of 32 metal mining areas in eight counties and cities in the middle and upper reaches of the Hanjiang River. The restoration effectiveness of typical mining areas was analyzed. The results show that:①The average correlation between RSEI and various indicator components in each year during the study period is 0.74,0.68,0.64,and 0.76,higher than each indicator component.RSEI has a better characterization effect on each indicator component and can comprehensively reflect the changes in the ecological environment quality of the mining areas.②Between 2015 and 2017,the mining areas in the middle and upper reaches of the Hanjiang River expanded by 43.5%,and the average RSEI sharply decreased from 0.61 to 0.44,a decrease of 27.9%.③Since the implementation of green mining construction and ecological restoration projects in mining areas in 2018,the average RSEI has rebounded, increasing from 0.44 in 2018 to 0.53 in 2021,an increase of 20.5%.The results can provide a reference for ecological restoration and management departments to carry out restoration work in mining areas.
