This article provides a multidimen-sional exploration of the latest development in foreign archival data governance research, with the aim of grasping the essential connotations and tool systems of foreign archival data gover-nance in the era of big data. Firstly, it focuses on the applicability of concept of records and ar-chives and the principle of provenance in the big data environment, elucidating the emergence and manifestation of archival data governance. Secondly, it emphasizes an analysis of the charac-teristics of archival data governance practices from technological and strategic perspectives, particularly focusing on the mechanisms and ap-plicability of archival data governance in various fields under different discourses such as electron-ic governance, IT governance, and information governance.
