Structure is the basic concept of the archival terminology system,which plays an important role in understanding the composition of records and archives. By sorting out the struc-tural thoughts in the original philosophical clas-sics and the initial concepts in the archival termi-nology standards,the concept of structure from the perspective of archival science is refined. Structural thoughts are deeply rooted in structur-alism and theory of structuration,which involve social structuring and overall management order,providing new ideas for archives management. Following the logical of social structure,the pa-per summarizes the essential thought:structure is the constituent element of record,a method for understanding archival phenomena,and an agency reflection on archival actors. And structur-al thoughts provide methodological guidance for archival work and are reflected in the business scenarios such as archival description,archival value appraisal,and archival authenticity verifica-tion.
