Community informatics ad-vocates the application of information and communication technology in com-munity development, providing a new perspective for examining documentary heritage practice.Using the online sur-vey method,an analysis was conducted on the"Documentary Heritage Communi-ties Program"of Canada, and it was found that its dual dimensions were as follows:in the dimension of"community participation",which is the subject layer of documentary heritage practice,it pres-ents the characteristics of originating from and becoming in the community; In the dimension of"ICT application",which is the tool layer of documentary heritage practice, the alleviation of the gap be-tween documentary heritage acquisition and social memory construction relies on the support of ICT.Therefore, adhering to the dual principles of diversity and in-clusiveness and broad acceptance,em-phasizing the dual dimensions of"com-munity participation"and"ICT applica-tion"should become the focus of docu-mentary heritage practice.
