John Steinbeck,as a novelist during the Great Depression,skill fully employs symbolism to presents the techniques of symbolism and realistic portrayal in his masterpiece The Grapes of Wrath.The paper demonstrates the typical symbols in terms of different symbolic structures,and reveals how these symbols contribute to the realistic presentation.
