On the Dialectical View of Social Development and Its Dominant Form in the New Era
In the perspective of development philosophy, the evolution of the view of social development has gone through three major historical stages:intuitive view of social development, mechanical view of social development, and dialectical view of social development. The intuitive view of social development has such prominent characteristics as analogy and speculation. The mechanical view of social development is in nature to understand the phenomenon of social development in"an absolutely incompatible opposition".It is a binary opposition,i.e.,either this or that. The dialectical view of social development is a scientific view of social development formed by the combination of the basic principles and tenets of dialectical materialism with the ever-changing practice of development. The dialectical view of social development adheres to viewing social development from the perspective of diversity in connection, change, contradiction, and movement. The application of the dialectical view of social development in China's development practice in the New Era has formed the latest Sinicized and epochal manifestation—the new concept of development, which can be regarded as the dominant form of dialectical view of social development in the New Era.The key to dialectically grasping the new concept of development lies in understanding the dialectical relationship between"one"and"several"contained in the new concept of development.
