On The theoretical connotation and historical contribution of Liu Zongyuan's Shanshui(山水)aesthetics
With its unique theoretical connotation and outstanding historical contribution.He laid the foundation of Shanshui(山水)aesthetics by rebuilding the relationship between man and nature,and pursued the aesthetic ideal of pursuing"Zhong"(中)and"reality"(实),the beauty of its works presented a complex form of interweaving worry and joy.Liu Zongyuan made four historical contributions to Chinese Shanshui(山水)aesthetic:Firstly,he elevated the subjective consciousness of literati and led the rise of aesthetic subjectivity in the Mid-tang Dynasty;Secondly,he explored the relationship between"Sightseeing"and"Governance"and promoted the understanding of the relationship between aesthetics about and politics;Thirdly,he injected new elements into aesthetics of Xiaoxiang's Shanshui(山水),which expanded the aesthetic experience of the southern China;Lastly,it deepens the connotation of the aesthetic realm of Shanshui(山水)in mid-tang dynasty.Liu Zong holds an important position in the process of the transformation of the aesthetic concept of landscape in mid-tang dynasty.
