新儒家与胡适之间的历史关涉和思想纠葛,晚近已有学者进行了专门的考察.但作为新儒家重要代表人物的唐君毅和胡适之间有无交集?唐君毅对胡适有过怎样的评价?学界似尚未见有专门和全面的研究.根据唐君毅的各种第一手材料以及学界以往未尝利用的胡适原始档案,辅之以其他相关的文献,可以对唐君毅和胡适在历史上的交集以及唐君毅对胡适的评价,既包括唐君毅对胡适的批评,也包括唐君毅对胡适在为学与为人方面的肯定,做出尽可能全面的考察.
Abstract
Recently,scholars have conducted specialized studies on the historical interactions and intellectual entanglements between the New Confucians(新儒家)and Hu Shih(胡适).However,was there any intersection between Tang Junyi(唐君毅)as a prominent representative of the New Confucians,and Hu Shih?How did Tang Junyi as a member of the younger generation evaluate Hu Shih as a member of the older generation?The academic community seems to have lacked dedicated and comprehensive research on this topic.This article,based on Tang's various firsthand materials,and Hu's original files unutilized so far by the academic community,and supplemented by other relevant documents,aims to conduct an as thorough as possible examination of the historical intersections between Tang and Hu,and also Tang's evaluations on Hu,including both Tang's criticisms of Hu and his affirmations of Hu's scholarship and personal character.
